One day, two men were talking about saving energy. The first man was wealthy. The second had very little money. The rich man said proudly, “I just bought a beautiful electric car! It’s fast, silent, and I never need to stop for gas again. I’m really doing my part for the environment.” The poor man smiled and replied, “I can’t afford an electric car, so I ride my bike to work every day.” The rich man looked surprised. “A bike? But that must be exhausting!” “Maybe,” the poor man said, “but I don’t use electricity or fuel. And it keeps me healthy, too.” Just then, a businessman flew overhead in a private jet just to have lunch in another city. That single flight used more energy than an entire family would in a year. The two men looked at each other. “So,” said the poor man, “who’s really saving energy?” The rich man paused… then gave a sheepish smile. “Maybe I’m saving less than I thought.”
