In a vast and powerful land, there ruled a leader known for his towering ego, his love of gold and grandeur, and his insatiable thirst for admiration. Every day he praised himself on television, in speeches, on posters:"Nobody is smarter than me. Nobody is more successful. Everybody loves me!"His followers cheered. His advisors nodded silently. His opponents struggled to stay sane. But above all, the leader believed one thing: if he said he was the best often enough, the world would eventually believe it. One day, two clever businessmen came to his palace. "Mr. Leader," they said, "we have created a revolutionary new plan. It will make the country stronger than ever. But … only the smartest and most loyal citizens will be able to understand it. Anyone who can’t see it is either stupid or an enemy of the people."The leader beamed. "Brilliant! Nobody has ever done anything like this! This will be the greatest achievement in history!"He gave the men a huge budget, made a big announcement, and delivered a triumphant speech. His ministers were curious but dared not ask questions. When they went to check on the “progress,” they saw … nothing. No laws. No plans. No strategy. But who would admit that? Otherwise, they’d risk public humiliation."Brilliant, Mr. Leader! Historic!" they declared. The media afraid of being branded “enemies” reported:"Genius! Only the best citizens can grasp it." When the day of the big unveiling came, the leader held a huge rally. Before a roaring crowd, he waved empty folders and declared: "Look at this incredible work! Nobody has ever done anything like this. Everyone says so. This is leadership at its finest!"The crowd cheered. The most loyal supporters nodded with pride. But in truth … no one saw anything. And still, no one dared to say a word.Until one young journalist idealistic and unafraid quietly asked:
"But … there’s nothing here?" A heavy silence fell. The cameras kept rolling. The crowd froze. A murmur spread through the air. No plan. No vision. Just boastful words and empty promises.
The leader shrugged, grabbed the microphone, and shouted: "Lies! Fraud! Fake news!" His most devoted supporters erupted: "YES! GET THE LIARS OUT!" And so the leader marched on, surrounded by cheers, as the rest of the country slowly began to wonder how they had ever been so blinded.
