If everything has a purpose…

A little girl sat on the couch next to her mother, who was scrolling on her smartphone.

“Mom,” the girl asked, “why do I have legs?” Without looking up, her mother replied, “So you can run and jump and dance, sweetheart.”The girl nodded.

“And why do I have eyes?”

“To see the world’s beauty,” her mother answered, still focused on her phone.“

And why do I have a voice?”

“So you can ask questions, tell stories, and sing,” her mother said with a smile, her eyes still fixed on the screen. The girl paused for a moment, then quietly asked,

“Then why do you have all those things too, but spend all day on your phone?” The mother froze.

Food for thought

We teach children to live fully, explore, and connect but are we setting the example? Having the tools for a full life means little if we don’t use them. Presence matters more than screen time.
