Grandma’s Soup

A young man had a bad habit: he was often impatient and had a fiery temper. His wise grandmother, also famous for her cooking, decided to teach him a lesson before his behavior could lead him into trouble. She invited him over for dinner. The young man had heard so much about her cooking that he was already excited days in advance.
He arrived exactly on time, eager and hungry.“Make yourself comfortable,” she said. “Dinner will be ready soon.”
But time passed. The young man grew restless.“Oma, have you forgotten me?” he called. “I’m sorry,” she answered calmly. “The food is taking a bit longer than I expected. ”More time passed. His hunger intensified. “Dear Oma,” he called again, more softly this time, “when will dinner be served?” “Just a little longer,” she replied. Finally, just when he thought he couldn’t wait another moment, she entered the room with a tray. “The first course,” she said cheerfully, “vegetable soup!” She placed a steaming bowl before him.
“For the best flavor,” she said, “let it cool for five minutes.” Tempted by the smell, the young man struggled to be polite. When the time was finally up, she said with a smile:
“Enjoy your meal.” The young man took a sip and was enchanted by the taste. “This is the best soup I’ve ever had! Your cooking is incredible!” “Oh, it’s nothing,” she replied modestly. “It’s just instant noodle soup from a packet.” He stared at the empty bowl. “Magical! What secret ingredient did you use to make it taste so amazing?” “There’s really nothing special…” she said. “No, no there must be! Tell me your secret!”She leaned in and whispered:

“The secret ingredient... is time.”

Food for Thought

In a world that moves too fast, we often forget that everything valuable takes time. Growth, mastery, healing, and flavor none of it can be rushed. Let life simmer. Be patient with yourself. The result will be worth the wait.

“Time is not the enemy. It’s the secret spice.”
