Built for the Desert

A mother and her baby camel were lying down, relaxing under the sun, when the baby camel turned and asked: “Mom, can I ask you something?”“Of course, my dear. What’s on your mind?” “Why do camels have humps?” “Well,” the mother replied, “we're desert animals. Our humps store water, so we can survive for long periods without drinking.” The baby nodded. “Okay… then why do we have long legs and rounded feet?” “That’s easy,” the mother said proudly. “Our long legs keep our bodies away from the hot sand, and our broad feet help us walk across the desert without sinking. ”The baby continued, “And why are our eyelashes so long? Sometimes they get in the way.” The mother smiled. “Those thick eyelashes protect our eyes from desert wind and sandstorms. They’re essential for survival in harsh desert conditions.” The baby paused, thinking hard. Then it asked: “Okay… So we have humps to store water, legs and feet for desert travel, and eyelashes to survive sandstorms...

Then why in the world are we living in a zoo?!
