A Lion with Fear

Once upon a time, there was a lion who feared nothing—except the crowing of a rooster.Every time he heard it, chills would run down his spine.
One day, the lion confessed this fear to an elephant, who burst into laughter.
"How can you be afraid of a rooster’s crowing?" the elephant asked. "That’s ridiculous!"
At that very moment, a mosquito began buzzing around the elephant. The elephant panicked, swinging his trunk wildly in every direction.
"If it stings me in the ear, I’m doomed," he cried, curling up in fear.
Now it was the lion’s turn to laugh loudly.
"A tiny mosquito?" he said. "That’s ridiculous!"

Reflection

If we could view our fears through someone else’s eyes,we might realize that many of them make little sense.
What feels scary, dangerous, or overwhelming to one personcan seem completely harmless to another—and vice versa.
Understanding fear, whether our own or someone else’s, isn’t always easy.
