Kendo is the modern Japanese way of the sword, rooted in samurai tradition and refined into a disciplined practice of timing, distance, posture, and mental focus. For the NC5 practitioner, Kendo is not merely about striking — it is about presence. Every movement is governed by etiquette, awareness, and respect. The concept of rei (respect) and zanshin (remaining mind) reflects a state in which technique and attention are inseparable. Kendo teaches that true strength is expressed through control, composure, and precision. Victory is secondary to character. Within NC5, Kendo represents structured discipline in action — where form shapes mindset, and mindset shapes conduct.
