A pig or an angel

Once upon a time, a monk was invited to see a king who was known to be rather unfriendly and often rude. During their conversation, the king suddenly said to the monk for no reason at all, 'Did you know that you look just like a pig?' The monk responded calmly and said, 'And you, Your Majesty, look just like an angel.' A bit bewildered by this response, the king asked the monk for an explanation. 'How could you tell me I look like an angel when I just said you look like a pig?'

The monk answered, 'When a pig looks, it sees pigs. When an angel looks, it sees angels.'

* Food for thought

If someone insults you or says nasty things to you, this says more about the person saying it than the person he is saying it to. You don't have to take it. On the other hand, if someone gives you a compliment, just say, 'Thanks!' or 'thank you!' This is how you can dismiss a nasty comment and not let it affect you.
